Cristofer Arias is a visual artist trained at the Universidad de Costa Rica and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been exhibited internationally, with shows in Washington, D.C., Mexico City, and across France and Costa Rica, including venues such as the Centro Cultural Mexicano and the Centro Cultural Español.

Working primarily in oil and charcoal, Arias explores the expressive potential of these mediums to their fullest range. His practice is driven by a pursuit of new visual languages—pushing beyond established interpretations to create work that re-imagines and expands the boundaries of contemporary painting.
