Cristofer Arias is a visual artist trained in Fine Art at the Universidad de Costa Rica, and continued at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been exhibited internationally, with shows in United States (NYC and DC), Spain, Mexico, France and Costa Rica- including venues such as the Centro Cultural Mexicano and the Centro Cultural Español.

Working primarily in oil and charcoal, he explores the expressive potential of these mediums to their fullest range. His practice is driven by a pursuit of new visual languages - pushing beyond established interpretations to create work that re-imagines and expands the boundaries of contemporary painting.
